Getting Started on Mac
Open backmir.org in a normal window of your usual browser, choose Start Game, pick a class and create a character. The first launch downloads the game and its resources; wait for loading to finish. You do not need a Windows game client or your own server.
Is There a Separate Mac App?
This is the H5 browser version; there is no separate macOS installer. BackMir does not require a virtual machine, dual boot or an Android emulator. It is a browser game, not a tool for running other games’ Windows launchers.
Keyboard, Mouse & Shortcuts
A keyboard and mouse are recommended. Click the game area before using shortcuts. On some Mac keyboards, brightness and volume controls take priority over function keys: try holding Fn, or click the on-screen skill buttons. Trackpad users need a way to right-click. See the in-game controls for the current bindings.
Slow Loading or an Unresponsive Screen
The first launch and visits to new areas download resources. Check your connection and try the same address again. You can also download the full offline resources from the game. Use a browser that still receives updates. Avoid clearing site data as a first troubleshooting step: it may delete your saves. Older systems and every browser combination have not all been tested.
Why Is My Character Missing in Another Browser?
Different browsers, browser profiles and private windows do not share local saves, even on the same Mac. Return to backmir.org using the browser and profile where you created the character. Signing into a browser account or enabling system sync does not sync your game saves.
Cross-Device Saves Are Planned
A future update will add accounts and cross-device save sync so you can continue on another computer. For now, saves stay in this browser and cannot be uploaded or loaded elsewhere. Release notes will explain how sync works when it becomes available.
